Elmhurst Home is ranked among the best drug and alcohol treatment centers in the state of Michigan. Our substance abuse treatment center staff is composed of certified professionals who are dedicated to the successful long-term recovery of each client. We have on-staff certified counselors and an administration team to help you every step of the way.

This group of caring and compassionate individuals is committed to providing the most effective treatment for each resident. Each professional collaborates with the others to provide top-quality care with our residential and outpatient programs, to provide "Recovery with Dignity" from addiction for our clients. Our addiction treatment services team brings years of experience to the program in order to help residents achieve lifelong sobriety.

Management Team
Elmhurst Home, Inc. Management Team is comprised of individuals with extensive experience in the area of addiction recovery. They bring to the field a combination of business depth, clinical, and technical knowledge, direct hands-on experience and a commitment to helping addicts develop the skill set that leads to lifelong recovery.

John C. Oden, Executive Director

John Oden, the son of the Founders of Elmhurst Home, Inc., James and Naomi Oden, has provided visionary leadership for 30 years that has led Elmhurst Home, Inc. into the 21st Century.  His keen understanding of mental health, substance abuse and behavioral healthcare programs, their implementation and oversight have kept us at the forefront of innovative techniques and strategies to help people struggling with addiction and mental health issues.  John's compassion for all mankind is the driving force behind his passion to help Elmhurst Home's clients to find lifelong "Recovery with Dignity."

Mr. Harper, Certified Peer Recovery Coach

A peer recovery coach is an individual who has lived experience in receiving services and/or supports for a substance use condition. He serves as a guide to initiate, achieve and sustain long-term recovery from addiction including medication-assisted, faith-based, 12 step, and other pathways to recovery. Mr. Harper will provide connections in navigating recovery supportive systems and resources including professional and non-professional services.

She is an asset to Elmhurst Home, Inc. brilliantly balancing fiscal matters with excellent customer service.


Cheryl Jackson, LMSW - Clinical Supervisor 

Responsible for the coordination and supervision of all clinical services for persons served, including:  supervision and training of all clinical staff; timely audits, reviews, and approvals of all documentation of clinical services, conducting fidelity checks of direct clinical services; and coordination of services with House Managers, Central Staff, Intake Staff, Quality Assurance Staff, and Administrative Staff.

Sarina C. Oden, Site Director - Naomi's Nest

Sarina is a graduate of Howard University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and an MBA from Central Michigan University.  Her entrepreneurial skills in the areas of business, finance, marketing and organizational team building are unparalleled.

Anthony Allen, MSW - Director of Peer Recovery Services

Tony Allen is a graduate of Wayne State University with an MSW.   He serves as the director of the Peer Recovery Services treatment program by directing, supervising, and monitoring the work of Peer Recovery Coaches in the provision of substance abuse treatment services and aftercare planning for assigned clients. He provides individual therapy, treatment planning, case management, client advocacy, counseling, and crisis intervention and provides, coordinates, and arranges for family therapy services for program participants.


Betty J. Smith, Administrator

Betty is a detail-oriented executive with exceptional organizations skills and a proven expertise in business development and program management which is a hallmark at Elmhurst Home, Inc.
