Naomi's Nest Partners with Michigan State University Extension College of Agriculture & Natural Resources


Michigan State University (MSU) Extension helps people improve their lives by bringing the vast knowledge resources of MSU directly to individuals, communities and businesses.  For more than 100 years, MSU Extension has helped grow Michigan’s economy by equipping Michigan residents with the information that they need to do their jobs better, raise healthy and safe families, build their communities and empower our children to dream of a successful future.


​At Naomi's Nest participants learned that gardening and related activities were therapeutic for them, a nice break to get fresh air and to be involved with nature, as well as inspire them to want to make healthier choices at Naomi’s Nest and when they leave.

 Women's Specialty Program

Elmhurst Home's women's facility, (Naomi's Nest) also provides both short term (14-30 days) to long term (90 days) residential substance abuse treatment for women who have children under the age of 18 and pregnant up to second trimester.  This is in addition to our standard residential program offerings (previously listed).  We offer the following services for our women's specialty program:

  • Gender specific substance abuse treatment and other therapeutic interventions for women who may address issues of relationships, sexual/physical abuse, parenting and childcare
  • Helping women with the process of retaining custody of their children (in conjunction with CPS)
  • Yoga


Naomi's Nest also offers Outpatient Services for our women who are seeking continuum of care, after completing our residential substance abuse program.
